Enthusiasm
Fiona has enthusiasm for everything. She's not quite the youngest at aikido, though she's the smallest by a long shot. But she is just so happy to be there. She loves that the younger kids' class now overlaps with the big kids' class for half an hour or so. She gets more aikido that way, with more people and more skills and harder work. She can't wait until she is old enough to do the all-day seminars and the three-day sleep-away aikido camp.

The enthusiasm she shows for so many things, not just aikido, is wonderful! In our TKD class, you can tell the kids who are just so happy to be there, keenly soaking up whatever moves they are taught and then going home to practice more. They tend to be a positive influence on others in the class, too, because of their calm energy.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say congrats to Sophie for being asked to test already. I hope she has fun with it! The TKD instructor here was calmly reassuring the class last night about not worrying about the testing on Friday, just to do their best and that they were all beyond ready for it.
