Christmas Games

Several new games and activities showed up under the tree this year, all of which are very enticing. So far the one that's got the most play so far is Colorku. I'm a Sudoku fan from way back and love my pencil & numbers, but this game has tactile, social and aesthetic appeal to recommend it.

The other hit in game-land was Quixo, another nice wooden game with simple rules and great depth in the game-play.

  2. This morning I wanted to blog about my son's enjoyment of your Cuisenaire Activity and Exploration Book for Pre-Miquon kids, but the netidea link didn't work. Do you have the pdf uploaded to a link I could list on my blog? Have you withdrawn it for some reason? May I upload the pdf from my hard drive and post it myself?

    Sincerely,

My daughter is one year younger than Fiona but I see so many similarities between them. Cate loves all games and I've added both of these to my list of wants. Thanks.

  5. The set does look incredibly inviting tactilely - I want to just pick off those attractive wooden pieces off the picture. But I can just imagine where they would all roll to, and how the baby would eat them..... So I guess I stick to paper for now. And DS will have to wait a bit before being introduced to the idea, his number-writing skills being still a bit laborious. Pity.

  6. Hi Miranda, I was wondering where you purchased these from? They look like an excellent thing to spend my next LI installment on...

  7. Hi Andrea. Both games were hand-me-downs that came from outside the family. However I know that you can purchase Colorku through Hammacher-Schlemmer because I've seen it in their catalogue. Quixo I have no idea. It's quite an old game I think. Here's the entry at boardgamegeek.com for this game.
