It took me almost 9 years. I knitted it in Child's 5/6, intended for Erin, who now wears a Women's 6. It got a little more than half finished and languished through the years when I didn't have enough arms and laps for looking after my children, let alone for knitting. A couple of months ago, inspired by the Ravelry website, I pulled it out of the depths of a closet and set to work finishing it for Fiona.
Here it is, finished well before my mental deadline of her 5th birthday. It's a little large -- perfect for my growing girl. At least, I hope she's growing, because it sure is getting to be a pain for her still to be playing a sixteenth-sized violin and closing in on Suzuki Book 3!
Sophie's sweater is being cast on tonight, and the yarn for Noah's sweater is in the mail. Let's hope I manage to maintain my knitting momentum.
Woah, that's a lot of cables. Congrats on finishing it in time for one of the children to wear it!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is certainly impressive! Cables faze me but so many and while reading aloud, unfathomable!! Happy Early Birthday Fiona.

Wow. That turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteMmm. Lovely color and it looks beautiful on her! And it doesn't look like you pulled it half-finished from a closet, LOL!
ReplyDeleteGosh, it looks so complicated! I gave up knitting and took up garment sewing instead. I guess I need the "instant" gratification.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I knew I wasn't the only TPer on Ravelry! lol
